A Message from Dr. Douglas Melton, Co-Director of the Harvard Stem Cell Institute:

Dear Supporters,

On behalf of the faculty and staff of the Harvard Stem Cell Institute, my heartfelt thanks go to the Art of the Cure Committee for their tireless work towards making the recent event on Cape Cod a success.

The work of the Harvard Stem Cell Institute is supported almost entirely through philanthropic sources - courageous and visionary individuals and foundations who believe in the promise of stem cells to guide us toward cures and therapies for intractable diseases. Funds raised by at the Art of the Cure event will be applied exclusively to our research projects dedicated to understanding and manipulating the molecular causes of type 1 diabetes, with a cure being the only acceptable outcome. My research is my singular passion, but with the support of such enthusiastic patrons, I am always mindful that hundreds of people are figuratively at my shoulder each day encouraging the work we are doing at HSCI.

Again, please accept my profound thanks for all those that donated their time, talent and funds in support and encouragement of the research conducted at HSCI.  It was truly uplifting to be in the company of such accomplished and passionate supports at the Art of the Cure for Juvenile Diabetes event.

Sincerely,

Doug Melton

Co-Director, Harvard Stem Cell Institute

go to the talented and tireless  Art of the Cure for Juvenile Diabetes art auction committee who worked tirelessly to make the  Art Auction recently held on Cape Cod such a wonderful success. It takes an admirable amount of vision and dedication to see such an event from conception to fruition. Sincere thanks, also to the numerous artists and artisans who donated their extraordinary works of art for the live and silent auctions, and to all who have joined us in our shared commitment to eradicating type 1 diabetes.
