"Artist Tree" for a Cure for Juvenile Diabetes

For two weeks prior to the 47th Annual Falmouth Christmas Parade held on Sunday, December 5, 2010, Art of the Cure for Juvenile Diabetes displayed mini 4 x 4 inch canvas art treasures, miniature Nantucket Baskets and ornaments donated by over 40 local Cape Cod artists. They were raffled off as part of a beautiful holiday tree display in the window of Kaleidoscope Toys on Main Street in Falmouth.

Like so many artists, merchants, volunteers and families involved in our effort to find and fund a cure, store owners Mark and Michelle Deutschman are personally affected by type 1 diabetes and generously donated the tree and display space in their eye-catching storefront. It was estimated that several thousand people viewed the decorated tree in the weeks leading up to, and during the parade, " A Seafaring Holiday" – the largest in Southeastern Massachusetts.

Our deepest gratitude to everyone who supported
this project and congratulations to the winner!
